Self-described as "a spoiled bitch from your nightmares...a pin-up girl by nature, and a monster by choice," Heidi Glüm is making her RAW debut this Saturday night - April 28. Our mouths are salivating in anticipation for what this shock-drag phenomenon will bring to the night. We've been watching her dazzle DC over the past six months, where she's been popping up and shocking crowds. Her "gloomy" takeover of DC comes on the heels of infecting NYC with her unique blend of corpse couture. Rubbing tits with fists and grit, she couldn't have picked a better moment to electrify DC with a much-needed "shock to the system."
She fears the Mandingo, she never eats real food, instead she opts to fill her system with diet of sleep, cigarettes, Red Bull and mascara. When asked what inanimate object she'd be, Heidi was quick to reply "a blow-up doll, of course." She's ready to rock your cocks off this Saturday night at RAW where she'll be playing hostess, performing on stage around midnight, and parading around the party pouring shots down the eager throats of shirtless men. FROM ROBOTS WITH LOVE

It's always a welcome surprise in the RAW camp when we stumble across new stuff from Italian electronic wizard, Alexander Robotnick, even if that "new" stuff was actually recorded 10 years ago. Upon celebrating his 60th year on Earth, he gathered all of his cds, tapes, dats and floppys from his archives and began releasing them in 3-4 song volumes, aptly titled "Robotnick’s Archives." Grab two tracks from Volume 3 below, and be sure to head to Juno and grab the rest of his (digital only) archives.
We also have a track from Melbourne-based DJ/Producer Harris Robotis, a name synonymous with big disco sounds that ignite elements of French disco and nu-house. A definitive mainstay in crafting dancefloor-ready bangers, the track below is a prefect representation of how his bionic sound can really get a party up and groovin! Tired of dancing next to straight girls texting their BFFs about how grossed out they are by the bareback porn on the screen? This morning I woke up with Lana Del Rey in my head. I like her. I like her music. And I definitely like her acryllic nails. I know that a lot of people hate her, including Kreayshawn apparently (did someone say "desperate dumbass?"). Anyway, whatever your feelings are about LDR, the Guxxi Vump remix of Born To Die is the shit, and it's been on heavy rotation at my own private dance party for a couple weeks. So, is it Guxxi Vump or Gucci Vump? The other traxx in my colexxion have the double CC (like Shashtilism). So I decided to do a little research on the Interwebs. Fast forward two hours and a presspot of coffee, and I'm stuck in the middle of a bromance that includes Brodinski, The Shoes, Gesaffelstein, Adam Port, Sam Tiba, and Blondes.
Gucci Vump = Guillaume (from The Shoes) + Louis (aka Brodinski). The duo a have done some killer remixes of Arnaud Rebotini, Yuksek, Woodkid, and of course, Miss Del Rey. Gucci Vump rocks. I mean look at the two halves. First, The Shoes (Guillaume + Ben) create awesome music (Crack My Bones), and they've remixed the hell out of bands like Marina & The Diamonds, 33Hz, Telepathe, and Ladyhawke. Then you've got Brodinski. His fingers are all up in so much great music. So good...whether he's remixing with his buddy Yuksek (see Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya, Peaches, Alphabeat), remixing on his own, or creating solo magic. I'm in love with his track, Let The Beat Control Your Body. I played it last month at RAW and will definitely drop it again this Saturday night. This oh-so-sexy track with vox by Louisahhh appears on the two-track digital release Bromance #1 (on Bromance Records), backed with Control Movement by Gesaffelstein. Now, that's a bromance I'd like to be in the middle of. Have you seen these guys? Sexy MFs!
Back to Gucci Vump. If you're in Paris tonight (I wish), you can check out Bromance #2 at The Social Club, featuring Gucci Vump, along with Adam Port, and Sam Tiba. I'm a fan of Adam Port, but not so much Sam Tiba (a little too DnB wub wub wub for me).
Couple more things that floated my boat this morning. (1) While meandering around The Social Club website saw the video for Wine by Blondes. I had never heard of them before, but I'm really digging this track. The video features some fugly folks tripping, but the song is hot. (2) Adam Port's release Own is on a label called Rockets and Ponies. I mean!!!

CHEWING BEATS WITH DJ TIGHT FANG

This Saturday RAW welcomes back DJ TIGHT FANG, aka DJ Bradley, one half of Pink Sock infamy, and current king of hearts at his monthly Heart2Heart party at Lost Society. Bradley DJ-ed for us back in 2010 when we were at the Lantern, but before that he was involved in helping launch RAW to the masses when BYT sneak-previewed RAW back in 2009 (H St NE, poppers and porta-potties...good stuff). Since his first guest DJ appearance Bradley has also been seen roving the RAW crowd and snapping up pics for BYT and the RAW website, so to put it lightly, the FANG has taken a bite out of RAW on more than one occasion.
Bradley knows how to work a dancefloor, too. He brings with him a deep understanding of electronic music, shuffling through genres like a wolf on the hunt, all while maintaining a seamless state of transition between cuts. His restraint is one of his best attributes. Mixing in and out of songs, he wont bore you with needless effects or fly-by tricks, instead he allows patience to intervene and waits til just the right second to bring the next drop in. It's these qualities that have the RAW camp super pumped for his guest spot this Saturday at RAW (don't forget to RSVP), oh, and he's fucking adorable and sexy, so yeah, get into this!

Have you heard? It's the year of the fucking dragon, and since we're all going down in flames sometime this December, we find this creature to be quite a fitting representation of 2012. Naturally, we felt inspired to share some dragon-themed beats with you.
First up is an oldie-but-a-goodie (are we really calling 2009 "old?"), a track by Dondolo, remixed by DFA's very own Shit Robot. This cut requires a little patience as it builds on a slick bassline and looped melodies, but give it a run through, it's totally worth it, and we LOVE it, so you should too. Rawwwrrrrrr!
We've also got one of our favorite tunes of recent, and a track that melted the dancefloor two weekends ago at LUTHER. Little Dragon has been on every hipster's bedroom ceiling for the better part of 2011, and this remix from Dead Blonde lifts it from your earbuds and positions it directly on the dancefloor. Not much is known about this remixer, other than that he/she is from Britain, and that doing a Google search using "dead blonde" is quite a terrifying experience. Anyway, lose your shit in this bouncy, house jam, as it grooves, twists, fades and drops all in a little over 4 minutes.

My set will give fans plenty of the sound they've come to expect at RAW, with some surprises from my own personal musical perspective. I think all the fans of RAW are going to dig it.
